Al Nahliya City

Built for the future

Ensuring the residents’ comfort and the efficiency behind-the-scenes systems

Waste Management

To ensure the cleanliness of the city’s environment, recycling and general waste bins are placed around the city. Moreover, Eco Bins are placed on the ground to easily kick trash underground and into an AI system where it can be properly disposed of, recycled, or used as compost/biofuel. Collected data is used to study waste production patterns and allows the city to refine what is necessary.

Education and eco-consciousness

Al Nahliya City ensures the eco-consciousness of residents and visitors through electronic interactive billboards that explain the purpose and importance of different technologies throughout the city. Moreover, the education system in this city applies sustainability into many subjects (such as STEM subjects). Students are able to educate themselves firsthand on climate change and the importance of sustainable collaboration. Exposure to active sustainability and innovation creates an eco-conscious community, therefore creating a path for other cities to follow.

Public Health & Safety

To ensure residents remain safe and healthy, the city integrates advanced technology and smart systems to monitor public health. AI-powered systems can detect and track potential disease outbreaks, while personal devices (like smart-watches) monitor vital signs and connect individuals to healthcare professionals. Each section of the city is equipped with easily accessible clinics and pharmacies, ensuring access to medical care and supplies. Additionally, drone delivery systems provide fast and efficient transport of medicines, bringing medical supplies directly to residents' homes.

Sustainable Materials

Al Nahliya City utilizes several different materials that are both sustainable and efficient, such as Biocement, Mycelium-Based bricks, recycled bricks, asphalt, Bioplastics, and Mangrove based woods.

Transportation

Al Nahliya city makes getting around simple, sustainable, and energy efficient. A modern tram system connects the city’s key areas, making the already short distance easy without cars. Walking and bike riding are highly encouraged, with wide, shaded paths and dedicated bike lanes throughout the city. These paths are built with piezoelectric panels that generate electricity from footsteps and bike tires, making transportation not just sustainable, but also energy producing.

Agriculture

Apartment buildings in Al Nahliya City are equipped with shared rooftop farms where residents can grow herbs, fruits, and vegetables. To conserve space and water, Al Nahliya City uses vertical farming systems along with hydroponics and aquaponics, these techniques growing plants without soil and with little water. Furthermore, outside of the main city, large farms contribute to the city's food supply. These farms serve as both a food source and an educational space and their location ensures the city remains surrounded by green, breathable land.

Disaster management

Al Nahliya city has many measures that are put in place incase of any disasters. These measures consist of:

Having AI sensors installed throughout the city to detect earthquakes, tsunamis, extreme weather, as well as any structural weakness.
Using satellites and drones for live environmental monitoring.
Implementing a system using mobile apps, digital billboards, and emergency sirens.
Ensuring the stability of buildings against harsh weather.
Having hydroponic farms and water-filtration facilities to maintain water and food security.
Flying AI-driven drones to deliver emergency supplies, as well as deploying them for medical reasons.
